In the past, invasive surgical stripping was the only way to treat the appearance and symptoms of varicose veins. This procedure is expensive because it requires a general anaesthetic and hospitalisation. It can also leave scarring and requires a long, painful recovery period. So, you may be happy to know that these days, you don’t need varicose vein surgery to alleviate the painful and debilitating symptoms associated with unsightly varicose veins.
Why you DON’T need varicose vein surgery!
Thankfully, these days you don’t need varicose vein surgery, nor the expense or downtime that comes with it.
Modern technology allows Dr David Orsbourn to offer Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy (UGS), Venaseal Glue and the minimally invasive Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA). These treatments are walk-in walk-out procedures, allowing you to return to normal activities almost immediately. Find out more about each of the treatments HERE.
Autumn is the perfect time to book your varicose vein assessment:
We offer complimentary, no-obligation varicose vein assessments with ultrasound scans in Blenheim, as well as our Nelson clinic.
Booking an assessment now means you can have your veins treated over the winter months. This is often considered the perfect time for treatment! Why? Well, there are a couple of reasons…
Post-treatment, you will need to wear compression stockings. We find that many of our clients prefer to wear these stockings in the winter when they offer an additional layer of insulation against the cold, rather than the warmer months when they can feel a little hot or uncomfortable. Treating your veins in autumn and winter also means you will also be readying your legs for their spring debut later this year. Wouldn’t it feel nice to know that you will be wearing shorts again in Summer 22/23?
We are currently taking bookings for varicose vein assessments with David in April and beyond. However, please be aware that these spaces fill up quickly! Remember, we also offer virtual consultations if you feel reluctant to book a face-to-face appointment with the rise in Omicron cases. While David won’t carry out a scan at a virtual consult, he can review any physical symptoms you may have. Virtual appointments also offer an excellent opportunity to talk through any questions or concerns you may have.
