Are you seeing the results of too much sun, resulting in pigment or red veins?
Help is at hand, and it doesn’t necessarily have to involve cosmedical treatments. If you are happy to progress steadily towards your goals, doctor prescribed home skin treatments offer perfect solutions in the form of products that lighten pigmentation, keep your skin hydrated and restore your natural glow. At enhanceskin we tailor the perfect skincare regime for you, using an advanced range of skin care products. All the products we stock in clinic have been selected because they literally do what they say on the packet, we stock Aspect Dr, Skin Medica and PCA Skin, all have proven results, and each put their money into science rather than fancy packaging and branding.
Here’s a list of some of the products we would likely recommend in your personalised skincare prescription.
Cleanser – Please don’t use soap or over the counter products that invariably contain ingredients that may irritate, inflame or dehydrate.
Vitamin C Serum – To be used in the morning, an all important anti-oxidant that will fight off those pesky free radicals and help stimulate collagen.
Vitamin A Serum – To be used in the evening. Simply put, retinol, is just another name for vitamin A. Retinols have been the basis of skin restorative regimes for over twenty years. Although over the counter products will contain them, this won’t be in sufficient concentrations. Doctor-only products give the results you see in studies.
Skin Brightening/Lightening Products – Prescribed for your skin to address various pathways leading to increased pigmentation.
Moisturisers – After a days boating, biking or in dry offices. Even a deficiency of moisture in oily skin will compensate with an overproduction of oils.
Sunblock – We always save the best, (and most important), to last! Summer or winter, outside or inside please always protect your skin. Remember pigmentation will return with a whiff of sun!
We thought we’d show you a trial of how home skincare treatments can, given a little time, effectively wind back the clock on sun damage. So we enlisted the help of Kate, who helps us with our marketing here at enhanceskin, and she has bravely agreed to having her before photos posted here!
Kate has some visible, (what she refers to as), old lady spots. The brown pigmentation on her cheek from sun damage. The UV light revealed more pigmentation, Kate referred to her session in the “lightbox” as the confessional…. Her exact words were “Forgive me Doctor for I have sunbathed too often for too many years!”
I have prescribed Kate Aspect Dr Deep Cleanser, Aspect Dr Active C Serum for use in the morning, Aspect Dr Exfol A Plus Serum for use in the evening, followed by PCA Skin Pigment Gel, and then the all important PCA Skin Weightless Protection Broad Spectrum Sunblock for daytime use… every day!
Stay tuned for Kate’s progress, and as part of our next blog we’ll bring you some clinic based sun damage treatment solutions.
