Autumn and Winter are traditionally the times of year that clients ask us about reversing sun damage. Firstly, it’s common for us to see new pigmentation and thread veins under the skin, easily attributed to sun damage. We’ll also see dehydrated skin with lost nutrients, which leaves the skin looking lined.
Thankfully, we offer several treatments that help counteract sun damage. Combine these with excellent prescribed skincare products and say hello to improved skin texture, skin quality and a more youthful appearance.
Reversing Sun Damage – The Treatments:
IPL – Intense Pulse Light:
We can use this procedure to treat pigmentation, red veins, or both selectively. IPL requires no downtime, and after a course of 3 to 5 sessions will give a 70 to 80 per cent improvement in appearance. You’ll no longer need to hide under makeup!
Fractora – Fractional Resurfacing:
This procedure uses fractionated Radio Frequency energy to rejuvenate and resurface the skin. It can slow the effects of ageing and restore your skin, so you can look and feel younger. Fractora is perfect for reducing fine lines, tightening the skin, reducing red and brown spots, and improving skin texture.
Platelet Rich Plasma:
Platelet Rich Plasma involves taking a blood sample, concentrating the platelets from that sample and reinjecting the platelets back into the body to assist healing and regenerate tissue. It is especially effective for rejuvenation of crinkling skin around the eyes, jawline, lower-face; and around the lips, cheeks, mid-face volume loss, chest and décolletage.
Finally, a combination of treatments will often accelerate results. For example, Fractora combined with Platelet Rich Plasma can supercharge the process of reversing sun damage.
Home Skincare Following Treatment:
We’ll also prescribe home skincare that can help you get the most from your investment in a tailored treatment programme.
For example, one of our favourite recommended products is Complete Pigment Plus. This product contains an advanced formula that combines Tranexamic Acid and Tyrostat-11™ unveiling a more even, radiant-looking complexion. It’s a perfect treatment to use alongside a course of IPL, helping you say goodbye to sun damage.
