Profhilo treatments are carried out by Dr David Orsbourn or our Appearance Medicine Nurse, Brittany Fenwick, in Nelson or at the Churchill Private Hospital in Blenheim. This treatment is a brand new groundbreaking treatment, only just arrived in New Zealand (August 2020).
Profhilo is a game-changing ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment. While we use other types of hyaluronic acid fillers to plump up and restructure the skin, this treatment differs in the way it can remodel your skin. Profhilo is not a filler… It is an anti-ageing skin revitaliser, counteracting skin laxity and restoring firmness.
It uses a unique, highly concentrated form of hyaluronic acid that stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin to provide hydration and plumpness. We like to think of it as a skin booster working from the inside out.
FAQs about Profhilo Treatments:
What can Profhilo treat?
Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water into the deepest layers of your skin. Therefore, it is ideal for treating fine lines, loose, wrinkled or crepey skin across the face, neck, arms and hands.
What can I expect after a Profhilo treatment?
You may experience a little redness or swelling post-treatment; if you do, it will subside within 1-2 days. Generally, the treatment requires no downtime. You can go back to work afterwards. As with most of our cosmetic injectable treatments, we recommend that you avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours following your procedure.
How long will the treatment last?
Initially, we recommend two treatments (approximately six weeks apart), after which you will start to notice significant results. Because the product has patented slow-release technology, we expect it to offer longer-lasting benefits than some other injectables. Follow-up maintenance appointments are recommended at approximately six-monthly intervals.
Does the treatment hurt?
Unlike previous types of skin-boosting treatments, this one doesn’t require a multitude of injections – just five on each side of the face. So the treatment has clear benefits in terms of comfort.
Is it safe?
Yes, Profhilo is low-risk in terms of side effects; you may experience some low-grade redness or swelling. The treatment is not suitable for any women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How long does the procedure take?
Generally, after your consultation and assessment, the procedure can take around 30 minutes.
How quickly does it work?
Initially, we recommend two treatments (approximately six weeks apart), after which you will start to notice significant results.
