Medi-Facials, sometimes called Chemical Peels, are used to improve dull, lifeless skin, sun damaged, fine lines and open pores. Years of accumulated discoloured skin cells that dull your complexion are removed, while your pores are deeply cleansed of embedded dirt and impurities.
Superior to ordinary facials, the peels we offer, provide clinical strength, which are results orientated, corrective treatments. The difference is evident in truly visible results and long-term durability.
Our peels utilise fruit extracts to visibly rejuvenate your skin and complexion, they work deep within the skin and encourages the appearance of new healthy cells, the texture will look and feel firmer, while fine lines and wrinkles appear dramatically softened.
Your skin will be assessed to help Brittany (RN) make a sound decision on what peel will be best suited to your skin, sensitivity levels, and barrier function.
You will be amazed at just how much healthier, clearer and more vibrant your skin and complexion will appear and feel. Seriously visible results that will no doubt leave your friends wondering how you look so great.
- The recommended number of treatments: 1–6
- Treatment duration: approximately 30 minutes
- Degree of peeling: Slight visible peeling to a light/moderate flaking of skin that usually begins day 2–3 and a possible flushed appearance that lasts but a few days.
These medi-facials/peels are excellent for tightening skin and reversing skin laxity. In addition, they produces a mild amount of skin levelling and correction of certain stretchable deeper wrinkles and scars.
Is there a consultation pre-treatment?
A consultation is required to ensure your suitability for a peel and also to assess your home care regime. Your skin needs prepping for the best results post peel. (Both retinol and sunscreen use is required).
What can I expect after the treatment?
There are several types of peels available at enhanceskin. Treatments range from gentle to medium strength. With some of the medium-strength peels there may be some slight swelling and pink looking skin. Sunscreen is a must full time, including the winter months.
How long will the treatment last?
Most people see a gradual and continual improvement after their first treatment. The total number of treatments varies depending on the condition of your skin. During your initial consultation, Registered Nurse, Brittany Fenwick, will recommend a schedule for maximum results.
Does the treatment hurt?
Once activated the peel may feel a bit prickly and will warm the skin. There may be some mild discomfort with the stronger peels. Your skin may start to feel tight. Your skin may start peeling/flaking on day 2 and may last for 7 days depending on the strength of the peel. Some of the lighter peels give little or no flaking or peeling.
Is it safe?
Brittany is always in the room to monitor safety and can deactivate the peel at any time.

Treatments take between 30-60 minutes depending on the type of peel. You will need to prepare your skin with special skin products for between 10-30 days before treatment.
