A few months ago we gave those TV Myth Busters a run for their money and busted a few that we find are common around the use of Botox, (Botulinum toxin), read the article here.
It proved to be a popular read with many of you, so we thought we’d start busting a few around Dermal Fillers…. but first let us answer the question we get asked most often…
Botox, that’s a filler too… right? No, wrong! Botox is injected to relax those facial wrinkle-producing muscles, like the area around eyes and between the forehead. Dermal fillers do exactly what it says on the packet, they fill. They fill out facial lines and wrinkles that are static, and exist even when the face is at rest, like the nasolabial fold from the corners of the mouth to the nose.
Ok here goes…
Dermal Fillers Myth #1: I’ll end up with a trout pout or pillow face.
Mythbuster – Here at enhanceskin we aim to create natural looking results. Dermal Fillers physically lift and sculpt areas of the face, neck and décolletage. This helps correct wrinkles, folds, scars and asymmetries. The end result is very natural. Your face will become revolumised and your natural youthfulness will be restored.
Dermal Fillers Myth #2: It’s going to hurt.
Mythbuster – Depending on where we are injecting we can use ‘dental blocks’ or local anaesthetic injections, local anaesthetic creams, or fillers containing local anaesthetic already, along with ice. Most people report that their procedure is painless or close to it.
Dermal Fillers Myth #3: If I don’t like the effect, I’m stuck with it.
Mythbuster – If you dislike the effect of your dermal fillers, most can be reversed using a reversing agent called hyaluronidase, this breaks up the hyaluronic acid present in dermal fillers. This is unlikely to be necessary, because following your cosmedical consult with Dr David, he’ll know exactly what you’re trying to achieve and he’ll make sure the results look natural and effortless, your secret will be safe with us!
