What a wonderful summer we’re having in Nelson, although if you suffer from “Hyperhidrosis” you may find that the intense heat is exacerbating a condition that already has a negative effect on your lifestyle.
If you haven’t heard of it, hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive and/or uncontrollable sweating. The condition can manifest itself generally or locally, (when just specific parts of the body are affected, most commonly hands, feet, armpits, and groin area).
There are two types of hyperhidrosis, primary focal and secondary generalised. For more information on both of these, take a look at the International Hyperhidrosis Society website.
If you’ve always taken your sweating for granted, and thought it was normal to clamp your arms to your sides, so as not to reveal rings of perspiration, or live in fear of ruining your new designer dress, think again… You could be suffering from hyperhdrosis, but we can help.
The solution:
Botulinum toxin, Botox, injections is extremely effective for hyperhidrosis of the armpits.
How it works:
This treatment stops the sympathetic nerves (which normally control sweating) from stimulating the sweat glands.
How often will I need treatment?
Treatment can last up to 12 months.
Are there any other solutions?
Talk to us about Fractora which also ablates the seat glands, although this type of treatment will not last as long.
